The Heart Of Darkness 5: Nimrod, A Hunter Before The Lord

Nimrod, a man whose name is synonymous with stupidity. Ever wonder what exactly Nimrod did to deserve that? He was king of Babylon. Tried to build a tower to heaven to overthrow God. Thought he could build it high enough to get there. That is the myth. The truth is he was building a tower to heaven, but it was not to “heaven”.

I want to look at Nimrod a bit more closely so lets look at our only real historical record of this man.

Now Cush fathered Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land he went to Assyria, and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, 12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.

Genesis 10:8-12 NASB

He was a hunter before the Lord. That term is obscured within the text. It means he hunted those who followed God. He was the rebel, Nimrod means The Rebel. Who did he rebel against? God. But the text says something interesting. It is repeated in Chronicles.

10 Cush fathered Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.

1st Chronicles 1:10 NASB

Why is it so important to say he is a mighty one? It is the one characteristic that the Bible tells you to recognize about him. We have heard that term before, in Genesis.

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Genesis 6:4 NASB

The term “Became” is הֵחֵ֔ל (hechel). That means to defile, to pollute, to profane. He polluted himself to become a mighty man. Likewise he began to be a mighty one on the earth. He became like a Nephilim. What in the world does that mean? I don’t know for sure but it suggests something happened to him and he became like a Nephilim being either a giant or very strong. We have a bit more information from Josephus actually, a Jewish scholar who most likely had access to lost books. Sadly we do not any longer have them. However we do have his writings, and this is what he says of Nimrod.

Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to God, as if it were through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence on his power.

He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to reach. And that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers. Now the multitude were very ready to follow the determination of Nimrod, and to esteem it a piece of cowardice to submit to God; and they built a tower, neither sparing any pains, nor being in any degree negligent about the work: and, by reason of the multitude of hands employed in it, it grew very high, sooner than any one could expect; but the thickness of it was so great, and it was so strongly built, that thereby its great height seemed, upon the view, to be less than it really was. It was built of burnt brick, cemented together with mortar, made of bitumen, that it might not be liable to admit water.

When God saw that they acted so madly, he did not resolve to destroy them utterly, since they were not grown wiser by the destruction of the former sinners; but he caused a tumult among them, by producing in them diverse languages, and causing that, through the multitude of those languages, they should not be able to understand one another. The place wherein they built the tower is now called Babylon, because of the confusion of that language which they readily understood before; for the Hebrews mean by the word Babel, confusion …

~ Josephus

Nimrod was tyrant of a man, who hated God for ending the lives of his ancestors. Most likely he began his life gathering up people and because he was strong he held a great number of them in his power. More so he founded several cities. Babylon being his greatest city. It was the worlds first post flood government.

Naturally he would have a large army, and lands and of course materials. In mythology he would fall in love with a woman named “Semiramis”. A prostitute who lived by the shores. Religiously she was thought to be a virgin who was given to Nimrod by the seas. She came out of the ocean, at least that is what the legend says.

“Semiramis” would be an interesting figure, Nimrod while masculine and strong ruled his people with fear and power. “Semiramis” would through a woman’s touch. She would be the high priestess and queen of the land. She would rule through seduction to get what she wants. The name of whoever Nimrod’s wife was is not important, what is however is that they would form a primitive mystery religion that has survived as mystery Babylon.

If you do not know, the mysteries, the mystery religion, the occult, the secret, whatever name you want to call it has its origins in Babylon. To spare you a long and drawn out explanation of Babylon right now, I am going to have you shelf those thoughts. The next session we will look into that more. However, for right now I want to look at Nimrod. He is one of the sacred masculines in occult teachings.

The goal of the masculine in occult teaching is to be strong and mighty. Much like the affix to his name. Evil will use this to its advantage. Think of the idea of Might Makes Right. If you can be trampled upon and forced to do what evil want you to it will. Nimrod is a good example of this for us as well. We should remind ourselves to be brave and fearless in the face of darkness. We do bend, we do not submit.

If evil senses weakness in us it will try to make us submit. Likewise as Christians, if we sense someone is weak, we take mercy on them. Instead of pummeling the weak because we can we try to help them. We protect them, don’t allow them to be bullied. Not because they bend to our will or believe the way we believe but because no one deserves to be picked on. It is by righteousness that we defend the weak.

Likewise, the government will use this tactic against us. It tries to appear as an incredible force that we cannot stand against. We can though, and we do. There is nothing anyone can do to you that will not be avenged by God. Remember this.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Romans 8:31 NASB

With much love, go out and be strong in the Lord.

The Heart Of Darkness 4: The Earthbound

To recap, we learned Satan tempts us with lies and our own lack of understanding. We learned our reaction to sin; to blame others, and to cover it up with other things. Ok, so now we have to look at demons. Not the pop culture things but the actual things.

First lets look at where they came from. To understand this we need to look at fallen angels. People believe that demons and fallen angels are the same, but they are not. They are very different. Fallen angels do not seek embodiment. Demons for some reason do. So where are there bodies? To discover the origins of demons we are going to look to the book of Jude.

And angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, these He has kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day, just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these angels indulged in sexual perversion and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

Jude 1:6-7 NASB

These angels that went after strange flesh are known as the watcher angels. They may have been the fallen angels or normal angels. I am not sure, I have seen arguments for both. However, we are not going to bother with that for now. We have a bit more work to do, now we are going to turn to Genesis 6.

Now it came about, when mankind began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not remain with man forever, because he is also flesh; nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Genesis 6:1-4 NASB

These angels mated with the human woman of the time and had children. These children were half human/ half angel hybrids. They were also giants. Actually you will find a strange thing occurs when you hybridize creatures that gigantism is very common. Off the top of my head the Liger comes to mind. For some reason when you hybrid creatures this pops up in them.

This would be something unnatural to our world. It is outside of God’s design. Apparently, these children were cannibals’, eating everything including people. Not only that but humans had become wicked. All flesh was corrupted aside from Noah. who was pure in his genealogy. I suppose that meant his line did not intermingle with angels.

Basically when these children of angels and humans died, they remained here. They are “earthbound”, meaning they remain as spirits, as demons. Demons are not the same as a fallen angel. Angels have distinct bodies. These things do not.

So what powers do demons have? Well, they can clearly take over someone’s body, even to the extent of multiple demons inhabiting the same body. This would suggest your body is more or less a device that you use to interface with this world. It suggests you too have a spirit and that there is something more. That’s just a little note I wanted to put in here. Here is an example and a bit more.

26 Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. 27 And when He stepped out onto the land, a man from the city met Him who was possessed with demons; and he had not put on clothing for a long time and was not living in a house, but among the tombs.

Luke 8:26-27 NASB

This man was possessed by demons. He was naked and he hung around the graves of dead people. This demons tend to hang around where they died. See many of these people were all over the world before God flooded the earth. Naturally they would have homes all over the earth. Some of these demons, such as Goliath, would have had homes in the tombs. They are not bound by any rules that say they have to remain near there grave but it would be a gathering place.

 29 For He had already commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and yet he would break the restraints and be driven by the demon into the desert.

Luke 8:29 NASB

Now this also demonstrates for us that demons can bind a person. They can throw a person to the ground against their will. They also can be sent away and come back. This is what people who believe them selves to be exorcists do normally. They send a demon away only for them to return soon after.

 30 And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion”; because many demons had entered him. 31 And they were begging Him not to command them to go away into the abyss.

Luke 8:30-31

As you know a Legion means a great many. A roman legion was normally 4000 to 5000. So we are talking about a lot of demons. Now, you may find this part interesting. The demons begged Christ not to be sent to the abyss. This is not Shoel, the land of the dead, nor is it Gehenna, which is hell. This is Tarterus, the bottomless pit. You see Tarterus is a holding place for the end times. It will be opened but not now. The demons feared going there. Jesus would actually hear them out and let them go, but it is clear from the text he could of sent them to such a place.

In another example, a demon will go out and get stronger demons to torment when cast out.

45 Then it goes and brings along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they come in and live there; and the last condition of that person becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation.”

Matthew 12:45 NASB

So a part I have no discussed, that is intrusive thought or voices inside you that do not belong to you. Demons have the express ability to give you wicked images in mind. Often they have chosen to show this ability through dreams. A succubus or incubus, often haunts ones dreams. They will present you with a temptation of some sort. Even going as far as raping you. These visions can drive one mad.

They can also bring sickness to you.

16 The people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together as well, bringing people who were sick or tormented with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed.

Acts 5:16

So demons add another element to our issue. They can indeed torment us. They can make us ill. They can inhabit us. They can also abide in you. Not all demons miss treat their host. Some are beneficial to them. This poses a serious problem. See a demon will give you abilities for a lifetime if they can have you in death. Demons are not your friends. The romanticizing of demons is common in the modern era, however it also happened in the start.

16 It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave woman who had a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing great profit to her masters by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and us and cried out repeatedly, saying, “These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you a way of salvation.” 18 Now she continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and he turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.

19 But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was suddenly gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the authorities,

Acts 16:16-19 NASB

As you can see they gave this girl an ability and it was removed. They do not do these acts with magical talents or anything of the sort. They do it through tricking those around them. Once again, multi dimensional beings can do multi dimensional things. It is like playing shadow puppets. You simply do not see the hands performing the trick, only the shadow of that hand performing such a feat.

You cannot trust a demon ever. A repentant demon would not contact you because a repentant demon would do what God wills. Demons are like their fathers and mothers, wicked liars.

Next time on The Heart Of Darkness I will be going into Nimrod, the man who became like a demons and the man who inspired Babylon and all its iniquities and furthermore all religions.

The Heart Of Darkness 3: Adam & Eve (& Satan)

Alright so we know the powers of fallen angels now. Now we need to look at what is important. The story of Adam and Eve is paramount to understanding what the nature of this battle is all about. It is why there is evil on earth. However first I need to retell the story of Adam and Eve because we have a lot of perversions of the story.

Adam was a direct creation of God. He knew God and walked with God. Adam also was charged with keeping the garden. This meant he was to guard it. Guard it from what? I find it rather shocking that in the beginning that he had to guard it from something. That is your first clue.

Eve was made from Adam rib. Eve is not a direct creation of God though God still had a hand in making her. Adam would have taught her what God told him. So if God told Adam not to eat the fruit of the knowledge of Good and Evil, you would assume he told Eve the same thing. However we know he did not.

When we see the Serpent with Eve, Eve says something very peculiar. Let’s look…

Now the serpent was more cunning than any animal of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’”

Genesis 3:1-3 NASB

Did you catch it? She said not to touch the tree. God never said not to touch the tree. Satan had his in. See repeating scripture and Gods words, it is important to know them and not add to them. Adam being worried about Eve he probably told her not to even touch it. This was all the devil needed to have an in.

The serpent said to the woman, “You certainly will not die! For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will become like God, knowing good and evil.”

Genesis 3:4-5 NASB

See, no new tricks. Satan offered Adam and Eve godhood. You see Adam and Eve already knew good. What the did not know was evil. Satan gave evil to Adam and Eve.

Now, what was Satan doing in the garden. It was Adam’s job to protect the garden, to keep it. He was slacking on the job. By allowing Satan to hang around he clearly was not doing his diligence. Now it may be that he was so innocent that he allowed it not really knowing the danger but God told him to keep it. Clearly God instructed him on what he was keeping it from.

 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings.

Genesis 3:6-7

Now Adam and Eve did the first act of religion. They tried to cover their nakedness. They sewed fig leaves together.

Now we see what Satan does to us. He lies to us to get us to do something we should not. Then we try to hide whatever it is that we are doing, even from God. This cycle repeats itself. It is constant and it is repeated.

Now they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 He said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.” 11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree from which I commanded you not to eat?” 12 The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me some of the fruit of the tree, and I ate.” 13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Genesis 3:8-13 NASB

I want you to notice this. This is proof that something was different. Adam who loved Eve betrayed her. He blamed her. Then Eve blamed God. Said it was his fault, then placed blame on Satan. You see we often do this as well. Instead of accepting responsibility for our actions and being open about our faults we blame other things. Sometimes even God.

14 Then the Lord God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this,

Cursed are you more than all the livestock,

And more than any animal of the field;

On your belly you shall go,

And dust you shall eat

All the days of your life;

15 And I will make enemies

Of you and the woman,

And of your offspring and her Descendant;

He shall bruise you on the head,

And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

Genesis 3:14-15 NASB

He cursed Satan to crawl on his belly. Notice that God did not curse snakes. It is sadly the whole reason why we fell in the first place. Adding to God’s word. We don’t do that. It may seem harmless at the time but later can be quite harmful.

Now God offers a prophecy here. This is a telling of Jesus, when he would come and take all of Satan’s power away. Satan’s power is through the law, he does not have power outside of it. A power which has been stripped away through Jesus’s sacrifice.

There is also another thing. The seed or the woman is Christ. Who is the seed of the Serpent. I will be talking about that as well. But keep that in mind. I will be coming back to that in another study.

16 To the woman He said,

“I will greatly multiply

Your pain in childbirth,

In pain you shall deliver children;

Yet your desire will be for your husband,

And he shall rule over you.”

Genesis 3:16 NASB

Another point, this contention between men and woman is something Satan uses. In man making him weak, selfish, conceded with pride. Instead of what is best for the family he does what is best for himself. Likewise with woman. They stand up and are defiant, selfish, conceded and with pride. I will go more into this when I talk about Feminism and why it create the man no one wants and the woman who is sad and lonely.

17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’;

Cursed is the ground because of you;

With [h]hard labor you shall eat from it

All the days of your life.

18 Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;

Yet you shall eat the [i]plants of the field;

19 By the sweat of your face

You shall eat bread,

Until you return to the ground,

Because from it you were taken;

For you are dust,

And to dust you shall return.”

Genesis 3:17-19 NASB

Adam was cursed to labor all his life and then he would die. The same goes for Eve. Yet we strive not to work. We strive to live easy lives. The easier the better. This is another thing that Satan uses. Wealth. The ability to do less and yet make more. You see, nothing new.

20 Now the man named his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all the living. 21 And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.

Genesis 3:20-21 NASB

God offers the solution to all of the problems. He made Adam and Eve garments of skin. This shows that a sacrifice will be done in order for them to have eternal life. He will take our sins away but we first must trust him. Unashamed and truly trust him. Satan has no power over us but our fear. This is the important thing to remember. No matter what Satan does he cannot defeat God.

Remember this and go in peace. Next time we will be looking into the seed of the serpent, I will give you a hint, demons.

The Heart Of Darkness 2: The Fallen Angel

So Lucifer is the chief of all our enemies. So, what are exactly up against? What powers does a fallen angel have exactly? I know most of us would like to be comforted by the thought of a fallen angel being fallen so in some way their power has been revoked. I hate to inform you that this is not true.

12 Then he said to me, “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was standing in my way for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel 10:12-13 NASB

In this we see that even an angel, Gabriel to be exact, can be held up by fallen angels. These ones at the time were among the Persian people. It took Michael to cut a path for Gabriel. This means that Gabriel toiled with them for twenty one days.

This means that fallen angels retain their strengths and abilities. A chilling and frightening thought. Michael was able to defeat them… but I have an even more unfortunate verse for you…

 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

Jude 1:9 NASB

Michael does not over power Satan there, he issues a rebuke from God the father. Now Lucifer does not over take him either. So we can have some assurance there but I think Jesus is the only one able to take on Lucifer and have assurance of victory. Thank goodness we are protected by him.

Now lets look at some key verses not particularly about fallen angels but angels in general and we can exstipulate some abilities they have.

First thing to remember is God created all the angels. They are thus weaker than God because he made them all. Easy to forget, at times we place angels in a godlike state and we will find that the ancients did just that later.

36 for they cannot even die anymore, for they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

Luke 20:36 NASB

Angels are immortal beings. They cannot die like us. So all these action movies and stuff where you see people fighting and killing angels, not possible. It is hard to imagine beings who are immortal but they certainly are. This will go to their wisdom. They can live a thousand lifetimes and still live more. This means they would have an understanding of people and how we react to things. They would know how to lie, how to bluff, how to intimidate, how to seduce, how to pretty much anything.

“Who is this who darkens the divine plan
By words without knowledge?
Now tighten the belt on your waist like a man,
And I shall ask you, and you inform Me!
Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding,
Who set its measurements? Since you know.
Or who stretched the measuring line over it?
On what were its bases sunk?
Or who laid its cornerstone,
When the morning stars sang together
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Job 38:2-7 NASB

They were there when God laid out the plans for the earth. They were most likely made sometime between verse 1 and verse 2 of Genesis Chapter 1. That is also when Lucifer had his rebellion most likely. We cant be sure though so I wont go into that now. However, this means they have been here since the start of earth. They have had a lot of time to learn things. Think of how much we learn in our lifetimes. Now surmount that to… all lifetimes. You see they would be incredibly intelligent. Far far far more intelligent than us. Items we made and invented would certainly be, well, they would know how to use it. They most likely created things far beyond us.

21 while I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.

Daniel 9:21 NASB

Angels are very fast. Gabriel was not there at the time he started his prayer. However he was by the time of the offering. Now we don’t know where he traveled from but we can assume it was a great distance. We can assume fallen angels are just as fast. Keep that in mind. Also they react to prayers or rather rituals? I am not sure but if they do that would explain why people can do summonings and they respond to them.

He makes the winds (angels) His messengers,
Flaming fire His ministers.

Psalms 104:4 NASB

Angels can be ethereal beings and physical being. They can reach though solid objects and touch you. I don’t understand this completely but here is my loose understanding of it. They can exist in a hyperspace. Spaces that have more dimensions than we do. So there could be gabs in solid objects we cant see and they can turn so to speak and reach through them. I could be totally wrong though. However they displayed some interesting abilities when it comes to solid objects and going through them. Mainly jail cells…

19 But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the gates of the prison, and leading them out, he said, 20 “Go, stand and [p]speak to the people in the temple area[q]the whole message of this Life.”

Acts 5:19-20 NASB

They did this without keys, so they can work a lock. Surely that means any device they can work with. I am not sure how advanced of technology they can do this with but they did it with Roman locks so that is something.

They have been shown to kill in the Bible. Sometimes times in great numbers. So they show signs of having super strength, super intelligence, and they are incredibly wise. We have a very powerful enemy in the fallen angels.

Now for some good news. One third of the angels fell. That means they are outnumbered 2 to 1. However, most of all, they are subject to Jesus. That’s right. They cannot act unless Jesus allows them to. Even Lucifer himself is subject to God. As much as he would like you to think he is not. Remember that always.

Knowing these things will help you understand why people fell for the things they did and why they could pose as the things they did. They may have other powers not listed but they are not God like, they can appear as such because of trickery. Most likely they have entire divisions focused on mere trickery. Lies.

With this understanding of the fallen angels abilities and how they operate through lies alone we can look more specifically how they handle humans. Adam and Eve is a great place to start because today he offers us the same deal. Next time on The Heart Of Darkness.

Ecclesial Studies, Spiritual Warfare, The Heart Of Darkness

The Heart Of Darkness 1: Lucifer, Son Of The Morning

Welcome to my Heart of Darkness study. This is going to be a study where we explore what “evil” actually is. I will attempt to show the movements of evil throughout history bare with me this is a big subject and I want to make it clear. So, Lucifer, why not start with who gave power to sin itself.

Lucifer, son of the morning…

12 How you have fallen from heaven,

You star of the morning, son of the dawn!

You have been cut down to the earth,

You who defeated the nations!

13 But you said in your heart,

‘I will ascend to heaven;

I will raise my throne above the stars of God,

And I will sit on the mount of assembly

In the recesses of the north.

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

I will make myself like the Most High.’

15 Nevertheless you will be brought down to Sheol,

To the recesses of the pit.

16 Those who see you will stare at you,

They will closely examine you, saying,

‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,

Who shook kingdoms,

17 Who made the world like a wilderness

And overthrew its cities,

Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?’

Isaiah 14:12-17 NASB

The story of Lucifer is a dreadfully sad one. He was given so much and yet, he abandoned it. There is another place in the Bible that talks of his falling. But I wanted to preface it. It is not easy to see who God is talking about. See it says the King of Tyre. However, God was directly talking to the King of Tyre before, but he referred to him as Prince. The real King of Tyre was the spirit working through the Prince of Tyre, Lucifer.

This is of key importance that you understand that a leader has a spiritual power behind them. Even people have a spirit behind them. A guardian angel, or a terrible demon or worse a fallen angel. We all act out our parts on this stage. We can serve the Lord or serve Satan. There is no other option as much as we would like there to be a neutral place.

If you are watching a child in a burning car and let them burn when you could have got them out of the car by opening the door, are you not evil? You see we are on a battle field. There is those that will help and those that will turn terror and those that watch. Helping those that need helping is the only people that are considered good. So get moving. Now back to Lucifer…

11 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 12 “Son of man, take up a song of mourning over the king of Tyre and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord God says:

“You had the seal of perfection,

Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 You were in Eden, the garden of God;

Every precious stone was your covering:

The ruby, the topaz and the diamond;

The beryl, the onyx and the jasper;

The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald;

And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets,

Was in you.

On the day that you were created

They were prepared.

14 You were the anointed cherub who covers,

And I placed you there.

You were on the holy mountain of God;

You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 You were blameless in your ways

From the day you were created

Until unrighteousness was found in you.

16 By the abundance of your trade

You were internally filled with violence,

And you sinned;

Therefore I have cast you as profane

From the mountain of God.

And I have destroyed you, you [j]covering cherub,

From the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Your heart was haughty because of your beauty;

You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor.

I threw you to the ground;

I put you before kings,

That they may see you.

18 By the multitude of your wrongdoings,

In the unrighteousness of your trade

You profaned your sanctuaries.

Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you;

It has consumed you,

And I have turned you to ashes on the earth

In the eyes of all who see you.

19 All who know you among the peoples

Are appalled at you;

You have become terrified

And you will cease to be forever.”’”

Ezekiel 28:11-19 NASB

Lucifer was God’s perfect creation. He was wise and beautiful, covered in precious jewels, the worship leader for the choir of angels. The covering cherub. Dwelled among God on his holy mountain. We have terrestrial views on these things and I think God did that for our own understanding. Basically God is telling us he had everything he could have wanted.

However, the one thing he did not have is the worship of others. See he was not on the same level as God. God was above him. He wanted to be worshiped like God. He wanted to be God. So he went about speaking to the angels, campaigning, promising them they too can be worshipped like God.

While we do not find lying today to be anything new, at that time a lie did not exist. Lucifer was the first person to tell a lie. Many angels believed his lies as well. You see Lucifer wanted his own kingdom. His own heaven. His own throne. He wanted to set himself above God. He wanted to have his own angels. He even promised them they too could be like God. That they could be worshipped. Foolishly some believe him. They followed after him. They trusted him. This is why he is called a liar from the start and a murderer as well because he empowered sin; and sin is death.

Not only that but defiled his sanctuaries, all of them. I would assume that means doing unspeakable things to the angels that did not follow along. We don’t know the terror of those time in the Bible. It does not say. It does not say how long the fall was. It could have been moments but if he had time to talk with the angels about it… I think it went on much longer than we know, probably for our own good.

Most likely he accused God of being a wicked sycophant. Someone who is completely arrogant and prideful. You see I believe that because that is what we hear from those that do not believe today. They think of God as an angry man in the sky. Even if he was real, which he is not according to them, they would not want to worship him anyways. They see an hateful God, instead of seeing a loving caring father.

That is why the family unit is under attack. Satan cannot allow us to have images of God on earth. He wants our home broken because the mere sight of God angers him and anything of his order does as well.

Nevertheless; fire was brought forth and it consumed him. He was the father of Pride. Now he is a woeful angry and belligerent being. One that is true to his nature of being a liar.

We often think of Lucifer or Satan as being a devil with horns and red skin. This could not be further from the truth. He disguises himself like an angel of light. His true form I would imagine would be a burn victim. However, it is surely not the red horned devil we are used to seeing. That is based off of Pan. We will go into that later.

Most likely he would be appealing to the eyes to say the least. Though do not fool yourself either. The devil is cunning and wicked. He very well may choose an ugly appearance if he would believe he would be fooling you.

I know pop culture tends to have an image of the devil that is woefully different than the actual one. Another part of that image is him burning in Hell or rather having a throne in Hell. The devil is not in Hell. He dwells in the second heaven, even as far as visiting God in heaven.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

Job 1:6 NASB

As you can see Satan is among the angels. He is in no way shape or form kept from heaven. I have seen many justifications but the text is the text. This means he does not get harmed from some holy symbol like cross. He stood before God himself. He is not the Lord of Hell either. I want dispel this common misconceptions about him.

As sci-fi as this sounds he most likely dwells to and from earth from space, and in between in hyperspaces. We know that Lucifer can only be in one place at one time regardless of what pop culture would have you think; and all these people with reports of being possessed of “the devil” are either faking their issue or it is a demon taking up his name; which I will go into later. Right now our focus in on this particular fallen angel, Lucifer. That being said, he can only be in one place at one time, and of course this limits him. How fast he can be in another place, we don’t know.

I want to dispel another misconception about the garden. We have all heard the story of Adam and Eve. I am sure images of a talking snake and an apple come to mind and Eve eating it. Right, wrong. Here is why it is wrong…

And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

Revelation 12:9 NASB

That was no snake in the garden. It was a serpent. A fiery one at that. Satan is a Seraphim. A dragon. The serpent in the garden was an angel. They would be very familiar with what an angel looked like. This was not Satan possessing a snake and making it talk. Understanding the Bible is important. Especially if you want to fight against evil. Truth is power.

Now that I have given you a full understanding of Lucifer, lets look into how he operates… next time on The Heart Of Darkness.
