Amaziah was the son of King Joash, and one again not included in the genealogy. He reigned twenty five years in Jerusalem. He did what was right in the sight of the Lord but not like David. The high places where not taken away and people burned incense and sacrificed. He killed his fathers assailants but not there children. He killed the people of Edom and made war with Sela renaming it Joktheel.

He then took the gods of Sela and set them up burning incense before them. A prophet came to him and told him because he had done this he would be destroyed.

This destruction would come in the form of the King of Israel. He would come to battle him and ultimately would capture him. He would escape however, he was killed not long after.
