There is no way! Méi Bàn Fǎ!

That is right, right now I am overwhelmed with the amount of projects I have going on and the amount of assistance I am giving out. In the last few days you might have noticed me producing a lot of Bible Studies trying to catch up. Those alone with my normal writing schedule plus designs for various people and editing and a few short stories on the side for people have me absolutely overwhelmed.

I can’t keep this pace. I have to accept that. I can try but I am going to burn myself out. Let this be a lesson for all of you. There is only so much one can do.

I am going to finish the projects I have right now but I am not accepting any more for the time being. I need to catch up and get this massive stack done.

List of Projects

So here is a short little list of projects that will be coming out on this page in the near future.

  • Site Optimizations And Better Categorizations
  • Bible Study Chapters (Semi Regularly) (Behind on Luke Chapters 9,10,11,12 and13)
  • An End To All You Know Chapters (Novel) (Way Behind)
  • Lyorta (Random Stuff)
  • Jayce Ran: Table Top Role Play System (In Progress)
  • Forever Kingdom (Novel) (Plotting)
  • Dark Saga: Makina (Novel) (Meh whenever I have time for that)

If anything in that list has shocked you well, good. I want you to see some nice surprises. Granted this is all just a hobby to me. A way to pass the time. So please please bare with me. I will get everything back in order. I just need time. There is not enough of that…

None the less I shall be posting against within hours probably.

Bible Study: Matthew Chapter 2

Announcement: Before I start this study I have come to a realization I am going to need to detail out some other studies in the process; to save you from the suffering through massive amounts of reading on a single chapter. I hope that this method will allow me to have background information shared and along side that things like the Magi (Modern Magician) explained in more detail. So there are going to be supplementary studies added to this one as I write them. I got a few on my list already and I will be doing them as soon as I find the time. I will place them as links throughout the study to click on. It will redirect you to that study on a separate tab.

Now that that is out of the way let’s continue with our study. As I always begin in prayer before writing these studies I suggest you ask God to show you wisdom while reading and seek the things I say to be true. Please, please, I make mistakes just as anyone else. While I take this with seriousness I want to stress to everyone reading this never to take ANYONE’S word for 100% truth unless you have come to know it as true yourself. Now I am done rambling. Let’s begin for real this time.

The Visit Of The Wise Men

1  Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Matthew 2:1-6 KJV

King Herod

So, Herod, Herod the Great, Herodes Magnus, is told by “wise men” that Jesus was born, most likely proclaiming him to be King of the Jews or of some sort of title like that. Herod was appointed the position of ruler over Jerusalem by Rome. His position was not one of actual Kingship recognized by the Jewish people. Think more like governor in modern terms. He presided over the land but had no familial background. So hearing news of a King being born and one that the Jews held as a prophesier event, well that spelt a lot of trouble for him.

Herod is from the region south of the dead sea called Indumea. He is also known for building a great number of fortresses, aqueducts, theaters, and other public buildings. Generally he raised the prosperity in his land during his early years but over time Herod grew to become a tyrant, valuing and fearing a loss of power. Most likely that is why he built as many fortresses as he did. He had fled his homeland during a civil war in the region to Rome which may explain a bit of his behavior as well.

If you look into the history of Herod he is a pretty corrupt guy. He had bribed his way into his position and clearly he abused it as his nature toward unjust actions shows quite clearly in the text. The Jewish people hated this man, most likely because he was an Arab. Even during those times there was enmity between the two.

The Wise Men

Now the wise men are strange characters in the context. The wise men or Magi are magic practitioners, most likely of the Persian school of arts. This meant that these men were no kind of imposters like Babylonian magicians. You can assume that the Wise Men were very intelligent men. The term wise here means that they held a secret wisdom, “magic” studies. The idea of these men wanting to pay homage to the foretold “King of the Jews” is an interesting notion. The fact that they called him that in front of Herod suggest they were slighting him, this also demonstrates their position.

Believe it or not that small detail is part of prophecy too and this is most likely why the Magi used such words. Let’s turn to Micah 5:2.

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Micah 5:2

So you can see what the scribes most likely presented to Herod. Now this verse has an even more troubling portion for Herod. Not only is this guy going to be a king and ruler of all Israel but he is a from of old. An entity who is both man and God. Herod of course would shrug this off as silly superstitious views from a conquered people but hope like that causes uprisings.

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

Matthew 2:7-10 KJV

Now in the text it is easy to get the impression Herod was happy to hear this news and that he was going to join in on the celebration. After all he is sending the “wise men” to go and find this child. Perhaps he was at first. However, I strongly suspect that it was a ploy to find Christ.

Now this is something else to mention. The star, this star is leading this group of Magi. That cannot be a “star” as we know stars but rather most likely is some form of light in the sky. We have seen wayward moving lights in the Bible before. No I am not suggesting UFOs or anything weird like that. However, there is something in Hebrew tradition called the Shekhinah. It literally means the dwelling. Often noted as being the upper sky in some way shape or form. This thing is said to give off light and they call this the Shekhinah Glory.

So examples of places we have seen this light appear is things such as the burning bush Moses saw, the pillar of fire that lead the Hebrews in the desert at night, the flames at Pentecost, and some other spots. So I am of the view that this was some sort of light from God directly leading these “Wise Men”. Some naysayers will suggest it was planets aligning at the right time or certain stars being followed. However, this text clearly states the star lead them. Perhaps not in a direct approach either. God has a funny way of making a short trip much longer than it should take, but I have a feeling he does this to forge us. It might have also been because they are being watched by Herod’s goons.

11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

Matthew 2:11 KJV

First thing to point out, this was not soon after Christ was born. It is clear that some time had passed. So all these manger scenes are incorrect in their depiction of the three wise men. It states they had a house. Most likely one that was recently built by Joseph; as he was a carpenter and a mason. So enough time had to have passed that they had a home. It might also not have been in Bethlehem. It could have been anywhere in the surrounding area. The prophecy only states he was born to Bethlehem not that he grows up there. Next thing to note to further support this Jesus is not an infant but a young child.

Now upon seeing him these “Wise Men” fell and worshiped him. Now, this is a pretty important note. Only one being is allowed to be worshiped, that is God and him alone. The fact that Jesus allows himself to be worshiped is showing that he and God are as one. Any angel that experiences this would have told them to stand and not to do that. However, Jesus allows it.

Further showing his deity we can look at the treasures given. Gold; gold while valuable as money it also is an item denoting deity or kingship as well. Frankincense is an article that denotes a priesthood. Myrrh, that is a burial item. The “Wise Men’s” gifts pre-tell of Jesus’s ministry, legacy, and his life and battle with death. Now there could have been other gifts but the Bible only chooses to mention these three. Also, there could have been more or less than three “Wise Men”, the Bible never mentions their numbers.

Another note on the gifts…

The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the Lord.

Isaiah 60:6 KJV

In the coming kingdom, the gifts presented to the Lord will be Gold and Incense (Frankincense) but no Myrrh. The sacrifice is complete and his death is behind him. The same with us, let us not carry Myrrh for our death as Christian’s too is behind us. Now let’s continue.

12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Matthew 2:12 KJV

So after finding Jesus, God had warned the Magi not to return to Herod and I suspect God would not have allowed them to. So instead of heading back to him they returned to their own country without crossing his path. No doubt Herod would have people looking for them to give a report of what they had found. This also shows that God had direct communications with the Magi through dreams; a form of knowledge they are familiar with.

The Flight To Egypt

13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

Matthew 2:13 KJV

Now God in his mercy allowed Herod to act. This leaves us with no doubts as to the character and nature of Herod. It also shows God’s dominance once again over the time domain displaying his ability to know the end from the beginning.

Herod Kills The Children

14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Matthew 2:14-15 KJV

Now we can see that Matthew is interjecting into the details of the narrative and is trying to tell us something. He is making a summary before he explains the events that take place. Whenever you see this in the bible it is like the text is calling you to pay attention. That you have heard something about this.

11 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

Hosea 11:1 KJV

Now just to make this more potent I am going to show you the verse before this and after this because the bible chapters don’t exist in the original text, we divided it for convince. So showing this as a stand alone verse is important.

15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.

Hosea 10:15 KJV

As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

Hosea 11:2 KJV

So this comment from Hosea 11:1 is kind of odd. It is a statement that is just slotted in there on its own with no real context to the rest of the text. Yes, it is a reminder that Israel was captured early in its history and God called them from Egypt. However, look more closely at this text.

“When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called MY SON out of Egypt.” It is almost as if this is not much to do about Israel and more to do with THE SON OF GOD! Jesus being called out of Egypt. This was written about 700 years before these events took place by the way. Starting to get the picture he knows the end from the beginning?

16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

Matthew 2:16 KJV

So here we have a suggestion of age. Herod knew that Jesus was going to be under two which suggests that the wise men appeared within a short time frame to that. So he was confident that the child could be no older than two years of age. We are not given any indication when Herod figured out the Wise Men had left. This passage makes me really sad. We are looking at an atrocity. The text does not paint an image of this.

However we are talking about the open slaughter of infants and young children. The soldiers who carried this out no doubt killed parents defending their children as well, maybe even entire families. This is further emphasized in the next verses.

17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

Matthew 2:17-18 KJV

So Matthew mentions this is spoken of by Jeremiah. So searching the scriptures we come upon Jeremiah 31:15, which is quoted above in verse 18.

15 Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

Jeremiah 31:15 KJV

Very similar. Once again Matthew is having to rely on memory for this most likely. So spelling is going to be phonetic rather than what the original text had. So who is Rachael and what is this referring to?

Rachael is the mother of Israel. She was the favored wife of Abraham; the love of his life. Rachael died giving birth to Benjamin. We can read about this in Genesis Chapter 35. I won’t go into a long thing of this but I wanted to give the source so you could look this up on your own.

So why is this so idiomatic of this moment in time. Rachael’s tomb was in Bethlahem. So this is mentioned as a shadow. Most likely attempting to show this as a prophecy or at least symbolic of this moment. In a lot of ways Christ is mirroring Israel. Driven into Egypt much like Israel was. Likewise he will be called out of Egypt. So for our purposes we will just keep this image in mind, Matthew felt it was important enough to include.

The Return To Nazareth

19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life.

21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:

23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

Matthew 19-23 KJV

So Herod has died and God sent his angel to Joseph to fill him in. However it seems either along the journey or before he left God gave him another dream warning of Archelaus taking the throne. Instead Joseph is to take Jesus to Nazareth, a gentile village. Nazarene in the local region is slang for an ignorant person, basically saying someone is stupid. Kind of like how in American slang people say the deep south (pardon me my southern friends). This is also a pun at the same time. It can also mean to grow out of. So in a way God is using the area to let the reader know Christ will grow out from this region. Which for a fun little set of studies look up how many times Jesus is idiomatically imaged as a branch.

I hope you enjoyed this study and come here for the next one. Like always go in peace, and spread the word of God. Our King has won the victory, we are only the clean up crew. Let’s save as many from the wreckage while we can.

So let’s see if I can handle this kind of load. Believe it or not this only requires me to work at it a couple hours a day with it spread out like this. So really only around 4000 words a day, which is like nothing. Right, well, I am going to be operating on that theory hahahaha! Got to get more stories done.

Bible Study: Matthew Chapter 1:1-17

A dust storm had erupted out of thin air.  The gale was whistling so heavy it felt like sandpaper across my face.  I could not see two feet in front of me as I wrestled against the roar that had come upon us so abruptly.  “I can’t go on like this.” I howled to Vanity as I choked on the ferocious storm.

The beginning of Matthew is pretty much a family tree showing Jesus’s lineage to Abraham. This is important because of multiple prophecies stating Christ would be born from the Hebrew line. Not only that but further Christ would be of the line of David. Matthew being a publican, he would be characteristically detailed in legal matters. Being a Hebrew himself he would understand the importance of such a break down of lineage.

The text demonstrates the human heritage of Christ. Not only they but the relationship he had with other men. Furthermore he had a past the lead up to him and it is demonstrated that God knows the end from the beginning. In Christ’s birth a multitude of prophecies were fulfilled. Even further it demonstrates he is the heir to the throne of David, a throne he will sit upon in the coming kingdom.

The Genealogy of Jesus Christ

1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Matthew 1:1 KJV

The first thing that is apparent from an English language prospective is the reference of Jesus being the son of David and David being the son of Abraham. In the Hebrew language there is no separation of grandfather from father or grandson from son. Those words are not in their vocabulary so a father or grandfather or even great great great great grandfather is father and vise versa for mother and daughter as well.

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

Matthew 1:2 KJV

Verse 2 has nothing really too interesting about it, the whole thing is pretty much straight forward, but verse 3 is another story.

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

Matthew 1:3 KJV

You may notice that Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar. When all the others do not mention who the children came from but rather stayed to the father and son line. Matthew bothers to make a note of Phares and Zara’s mother, Thamar. To understand why this is a bit out of the ordinary we need to turn to Genesis 38 where this event happened.

I will summarize the events of the chapter for you but feel free to read the whole thing for yourself.

Judah or Judas, intermarried with a Canaanite woman named Shuah. They had three sons together named Er, Onan, and Shelah. Thamar or “Tamar” was the wife of Er. However, Er before he could consummate a child with Tamar died by God’s hand; he was wicked before the LORD. Whatever that means… I may go into a study on that on it’s own sometime. I digress though.

Now historically something called a Levirite marriage happened. It was the responsibility of the brother of a widows husband to take care of her and take her on as his wife. Odam however, refused to consummate with her by using the “pull out method”. This also displeased God enough that he smites him dead too.

Judah then promised her that Shelah would marry her once he became of age. Now God clearly had aspirations for her as shown in the text. People are dying because of their actions and not only that but by God’s own hand. Keep that in mind when things are going wrong in your own life. Is it God leading you in another direction?

Time passes and Judah does not wed Thamar to his son Shelah, SO, she tricks Judah into sleeping with her by dressing as a prostitute in secret. As payment he agrees to give this prostitute a goat. Tamar however asks for his seal and staff as collateral for the goat. Judah agrees and leaves to get the goat. However, when he returns she is gone.

Three months later Jacob finds out Thamar is pregnant and he is pissed. He sends for her and wants to have her burned alive. This was not an uncommon punishment for adultery in the ancient world. HOWEVER, when she is presented to him she bore his SEAL and STAFF. Which he put two and two together realizing she was the prostitute he slept with.

A bit of drama ensues and she is pregnant with his twin children; Pharas “Perez” and Zara “Zerah”. Legally they are illegitimate children.

So from this point in the genealogy we are outside of the line of Judah. Which is a huge problem! Why? Well, in Deuteronomy (Deut 23:2) there is a Levitical law forbidding a bastard child from being considered part of the “Congregation of the LORD” or a Hebrew. In fact it takes 10 generations from that point for ANY of the offspring of that line to be considered proper Hebrews.

So let’s count. Pharez 1, Hezron 2, Ram 3, Amminadab 4, Nahshon 5, Salmon 6, Boaz 7, Obed 8, Jesse 9, David 10. King David is generation 10. King David is the first legitimate son of Judah from that line. So now that we have solved that issue let’s continue.

And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

Matthew 1:4-5 KJV

Now you may notice once again we have the mother mentioned. Booz “Boaz” of Rachab “Rahab”. So who is Rahab and why is she mentioned? Rahab is the gentile mother of Boaz. This is covered in the Book of Ruth.

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

Matthew 1:6 KJV

Once again an interesting statement pops up. Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias. Urias is the poor bloke who David sent to war in the front line to ensure his death. Basically the guy David had murdered. Her name is Bathsheba.

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

Matthew 1:7-8 KJV

This is a good point to take pause. Unless you study the Old Testament closely you will entirely miss that some of the names are completely missing from the genealogy here. Ahaziah son of Joram, Joash son of Ahaziah, and Amaziah or Uzziah son of Joash. They abandoned God and brought idolatry into Jerusalem. God literally had them blotted out from the text here to emphasis how much he despises such things.

And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

Matthew 1:9-10 KJV

So, this is an interesting note. Josias did not begat Jechonias, actually is was Jehoiakim who begat Jechonias and Jeconiah did not have any brothers. So what is this issue, it is a curse put upon them from God actually.

24 As I live, saith the Lord, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;

25 And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.

27 But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.

28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord.

30 Thus saith the Lord, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.

Jeremiah 22:24-30 KJV

Coniah is another name used for Jechonis. So he is cursed. Big deal.

12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

Matthew 1:12 KJV

Now Salathiel was not the biological father of Zorobabel but instead he adopted him. This breaks the blood curse placed upon his family. The line can continue by legal rite over blood rite.

From this point forward we have a straight shot to Jesus with nothing all that confusing coming in the way.

13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

Matthew 1:13-17 KJV

Now if you noticed I made it a point of pointing out Matthew’s background in legal matters. There is a good reason he pointed all this out. Judaism and Mosaic law is very detailed and meticulous about inheritance laws. For this set of events to have played forth it would seem as if those laws were written for this specific scenario.

First lets take a look at Numbers 27:7-11

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father’s brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.

And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.

And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren.

10 And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father’s brethren.

11 And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the Lo

Numbers 27:6-11 KJV

We can see a few of these instances in the genealogy above. Further a tradition existed that husbands are also adopted by the brides father. SO, what is all this about. Well, it is to show Joseph carries the royal line with prophecies; the genealogy of Joseph fits with the hundreds of other prophecies about Christs birth and the regulations on the royal line.

Normally I don’t like to split up chapters but I feel like this is a good place to stop for now and the next time we study together we will go over the rest of the chapter taking a look at the virgin birth in detail.

Chapter Layout Done

Been hard at work all morning with Peppermint tea. I did some major reworks on AETAYK (An End To All You Know). Restructured some of the chapters, added in some more material and changed some of the major events in the beginning.

I originally had Primina’s curiosity (the main character) being the driving force for discovery. I actually felt that did not illustrate the lengths of which the characters went to cover things up. If I allowed her to discover things on her own then it would prove the characters were either incompetent or that they wanted her to discover the truth of things on her own. That is an impression I wont risk. Instead, I must keep entropy as the driving force for discovery in the beginning. Since the central theme of the entire book is entropy and the futility of man’s efforts to create utopia. Knowing that going into the book wont spoil it at all.

Oddly enough I have been listening to Miyasato Kumi, Kaze no Lullaby (Translation: Lullaby of the Wind [I think!]), really strikes me in all the right ways. I really love that early 90s twangy guitar that came out of Japan. The Smiths also employed it in the 80s as well, but the Japanese rock scene played it a bit harder. Also the use of layered lyrics, she has a really pretty voice during the chorus too.

Normally I would be at church or rather arriving home but I am a don’t want to risk getting anyone sick. Moms visiting after though, its cool if she gets sick, apparently. I really would prefer wearing a face mask if she is but I already know she wont let me.

Anyway, I got the story blocks figured out. This one looks like it is going to be around 29 chapters and a prologue. So I got my work cut out for me. However, some of those chapters are going to be short. I may have 30 chapters for something I want to do with one of the chapters. It is for artistic expression alone and wont require much attention. However, I feel like it may illustrate an image I am trying to potray to include it.

So with that said this book is going to be somewhat avant garde. Well I wont spoil any more. Expect the first chapters to be coming out sometimes next week. The ones I have up right now are going to be reworked with my new ideas. I got a bunch of work to do but nothing a few hours wont fix. And I got to rake… that too… might do that first… probably not though…

Best Advice

This right here, is the greatest advice anyone can give you in life; well if you want to do something with your life that is. Preparing yourself is important sure, however it is of less importance than doing whatever it is you want to do. Aspire towards a goal and move towards it.

I have done this myself over the years and I am now starting to learn that I should have spent the last ten years of my life moving towards my goals rather than perfecting my crafts.

So whatever it is in life you want to achieve, every single day, take steps towards that goal. If you stray from that path, correct your course and continue forward. You will learn plenty on the journey.

Why Is It So Hard To Build An Audience?

Chronos; that is the most simple answer. It is time that divides our attention the most. That includes your audience. As someone who does not much care about “building” an audience through schemes or tricks but rather talent alone, I have come to certain conclusions. One of the most important ones is that your audience’s time is valuable.

As an artist there are a number of media forms to work with. For the pure visual artist, you can gain popularity by taking up a moment of someones time. It is rather rare today to have someone spend intimate time with a single piece of artwork. Be that as it may, this truth has it’s own vices. It means the appreciation of your work is masked by numbers and the connection to your audience is loosely based around said moment. The good news is that your work is easily shared and enjoyed by a large swaft of people with minimal effort from your audience.

Then you get into things like music. It can be enjoyed on it’s own, or during something else. It reaches the soul and perhaps your work becomes someone’s theme; for a day or maybe longer. However, you capture your audience with an intimacy I would argue is far stronger than a visual art. A good space to grow in too because multitasking allows someone to hear your song. If you attract special attention with your talent you may even get them to say “Who made that?” and they will look you up. Download your music, maybe flash your bandcamp or soundcloud.

Similarly is the art of Podcasting or making youtube commentary videos. I find myself enjoying a large number of these kinds of media. All I have to do is listen while I do other more pressing things. It is easy entertainment. In that it also requires little time from your audience.

So if you see where I am going… movies, television, animation, to some extent require a greater level of attention. Now one can spend their time doing other things but at that point, they are missing a piece of the art itself. This requires a fair bit more attention and thus it is harder to build in audience in such media. Bad news for you film makers. However at that same time, I believe film can reach people in ways other forms of art cannot. This is because they will spend more time and attention with it. It makes it more personal.

Then you have the written word. Oh, I woefully inform you, the task of building your audience will be much harder. In order to build an audience in this field of art you must captivate them rather quickly. If you don’t you will loose your chance. See the thing about the written word is it requires not only all of your attention but it also requires a fair bit more of your time. So building your audience writers is going to be difficult to say the least.

At that same time it is an absolute treasure in reaching deep into someone. The written word can not only bring out emotion unlike other media types but it can truly seat itself. The art of making a reader walk through someone else’s skin for several hours is truly an intimate thing. It gives the reader a view of your inner mind. This is why writer’s audiences tend to be so loyal. You have spent a great deal of time with them.

Basically what I am suggesting is time + attention = audience growth difficulty. If you require time and attention it is harder. The more time you require the more difficult it will be, likewise with attention. So make it count, that is what you are up against. At this time it also means you are getting closer to your audience. The more time and attention they give to your work the closer the bond between you and them will be.

My Apex Goal For Skills As A Writer

I have been working on my writing formula for a while now, the better part of five years. By doing this I have learned a lot of talents and skills for writing. So needless to say my toolbox is pretty nicely filled at this point. However, I have a set of goals I want to meet as a writer too. Here is what I hope to be able to achieve and my roadmap.

Thoughts and sketches of scenes created while working on another project.

Day 1: Plot Outline From Sketches
Day 2: Finish Outline And Prologue

First Draft
Day 2: Write Act 1 A First 1/2
Day 3: Write Act 1 A Second 1/2
Day 4: Write Act 1 B First 1/2
Day 5: Write Act 1 B Second 1/2
Day 6: Write Act 2 A First 1/2
Day 7: Write Act 2 A Second 1/2
Day 8: Write Act 2 B First 1/2
Day 9: Write Act 2 B Second 1/2
Day 10: Write Act 2 C First 1/2
Day 11: Write Act 2 C Second 1/2
Day 12: Write Act 2 D First 1/2
Day 13: Write Act 2 D Second 1/2
Day 14: Write Act 3 A First 1/2
Day 15: Write Act 3 A Second 1/2
Day 16: Write Act 3 B First 1/2
Day 17: Write Act 3 B Second 1/2

Copy Editing
Day 18: Edit Act 1 A
Day 19: Edit Act 1 B
Day 20: Edit Act 2 A
Day 21: Edit Act 2 B
Day 22: Edit Act 2 C
Day 23: Edit Act 2 D
Day 24: Edit Act 3 A
Day 25: Edit Act 3 B

Day 26: Typeset Act 1 (A&B) Act 2 (A&B)
Day 27: Typeset Act 2 (C&D) Act 3 (A&B)

I really want to be able to achieve this because I have so many ideas and so little time. I can write about 1000 to 1500 words per hour. And can edit around 2000 to 3000 words an hour (with rewriting). A portion of an act is normally around 10,000 words. And as for typesetting… ug… the worst part of self publishing.

So we are doing this with editing Blue Ash Crisis right now. I am doing the final edits and hoping to build up this schedule and then press out An End To All You Know like this. That way I can get to Forever Kingdom before the end of October. I might be late for summer release but I wont be late for my Winter release. A lot of life things happen ya know… anyways that is my roadmap.

Russian Kids Sing Hallelujah

This is 10,000 times more beautiful. Amazing lyrics.

“I thank you God for moon and sun,
For Wonder of the planets run,
For every moment, Good Lord, You will give me!
For Light and shade, for joy, dismay
For my the best till present day,
For every new inhale yet – Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…

I thank you Lord for setting course,
For every new my day on Earth,
For love and worldly blessings You did give me!
For rustling leaves, for rain and snow,
For times that come and quickly go,
For light and hope inside me – Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…

Forgive us Lord our evil deeds,
Give grace that everybody needs,
And save those people who are lost in darkness…
Help to forget, forgive, and love
And live for life that from above,
In praise of God Almighty – Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…

I thank you God for moon and sun,
For Wonder of the planets run,
For every moment, Good Lord, You will give me!
For Light and shade, for joy, dismay
For my the best till present day,
For every new inhale yet – Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…

Don’t disrepair this world still has love and grace and we will all cry hallelujah one day.

Final Re-Writes Blue Ash Crisis

I am doing the final re-writes for Blue Ash Crisis so soon all the chapters will be free of errors and stylistically better. So far I have just finished the prologue but I am steadfast in my work and pretty soon the whole thing will be finished.

Also new chapters of An End To All You Know will be released soon too.
